How it all started

When Michael Ditz was retrenched from SA Clothing (SA’s leading clothing manufacturer), his entrepreneurial spirit kicked in. His experience in the industry had taught him one thing – that everyone appreciated a great deal. Money can’t buy you the thrill of saving!

From the most humble of beginnings he set a precedent for the brand – treat everyone with respect, buy sensibly and give customers the best deal on the clothes they really want.

Joined by Grant Fraser and Dave Altshuler, the dynamic team grew JAM from being a wholesale business into a popular retail chain with a national footprint.

How we do what we do

We have one goal – to make high quality fashion brands accessible to all, at a fraction of the regular retail price. We’ve built relationships with both local and international suppliers and we buy their cancelled orders or excess stock.

We keep our running costs as low as possible so the savings are passed on to our customers.

Every product we buy is discussed openly. Quality and Price are inspected in detail to make sure our Customers win all round.

Relationships with our suppliers is something we take seriously. Without that trust we would never have been able to grow the way we have.

JAM has always been committed to giving back to the community, and have embarked on various social responsibility projects over the years. CEO Michael Ditz explains, “Our community plays a big role in our success, and it is therefore important that we do not forget them in their time of need”.
To give to those in need is a priceless experience. We have supported and worked with organisations such as The Open Air School, Key of Hope, Zululand Rhino Reserve, Robin Hood Foundation, Red Frogs, Durban Children’s Home, The Street Store to name a few. In our experience we always receive more than we give and we would like to thank our partners in letting us be part of their journey.
