The 16th annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival took place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, over the past two weekends and has now come to a close. At JAM, we’ve made sure that you’re up to date with the daring duds displayed by the models and moguls in attendance.
1. Metallic Tattoos
Shining skin was on show this year at Coachella. Metallic tattoos made sure that those in attendance were effortlessly accessorised all weekend long. Try this trend if you want to spice up your look without piling on tons of jewellery.
2. Denim on Denim on Denim
Once a fashion taboo, the ladies of Coachella proved that denim on denim is the way to look casual and cool. This trend took shape in the form of jumpsuits, dresses and separates. Wear a darker denim for a new take on night or don a lighter shade for effortless chic.
3. Flirty and Flowing
Flirty, flowing and free was a festival favourite this year at Coachella. We saw it rocked in white with flowery accessories. Wear this trend as a dress and flats combo for a carefree look, or pair a romantic shirt with jeans for a beautiful alternative to casual wear.
4. High-Fashion Hair
Hats, headbands and flower-crowns are always a festival staple. This year, no head was left unembellished. This is the perfect way to add some individuality to any outfit.
5. Brave Braids
Braids were bold this year. The trend was worn with colour and creativity. This look is all about expressing your individuality, but if you’re scared to take on this look, try one statement braid to add some cool.
6. Not-Afraid Necklaces
No neck was naked at Coachella this year. We saw necklaces in all shapes and sizes. Chokers were also on show! The looks that got us excited were big and bold tribal pieces. The bigger, the better! Not a trend for the faint of heart.
7. 70’s Flare
Bootlegs and groovy patterns were loud and proud. This look embodies effortless chic. Loose-fitting rompers, wide-legs and maxi-dresses were plastered with paisley and other fun prints. This look is for anyone with a need for funk.
8. Glowing Glasses
This year, glasses were not just for keeping the glare at bay – they were in the spotlight showcasing fun tints, playful shapes and individual style. This is an easy trend for anyone to wear – mix it up and let your personality shine.
9. Bejeweled Waists
We absolutely love this new accessories trend! Bejeweled waists are the perfect way to dress any outfit up in an unexpected way. Wear these jewels over dresses, shorts or skirts for some style. Wave goodbye to boring jewels and say hello to exciting new ways to glam up!
10. Western Wear
Western was big at Coachella this year. Really big. There was enough fringe making the rounds for you to think there was a rodeo on the go! There was tan, neckties, turquoise, studs and embroidery. This trend is a winner but be warned – don’t overdo it! Mix one western inspired piece with a classic item to add some edge.
Peace out from us at JAM.
